Seishinkan Iaido teaches the traditional koryu martial art of Musou Jikiden Eishinryu Iaido, as it was taught by the late Yasuyoshi Kimura (10th Dan Hanshi, meaning “Grandmaster”) at his Meishinkan dojo in Osaka, Japan.

The head of Seishinkan Iaido, Glenn “Agou” Stockwell (8th Dan), trained directly under Yasuyoshi Kimura in Osaka starting in 1991. Seishinkan Iaido now has eight dojos in Japan, Australia, the United States, and Poland. It’s recognized as an official shibu (regional branch) of the Dai Nihon Iaido Renmei, and it’s the only non-Japanese dojo to have this recognition.

Dai Nihon Iaido Renmei Taikai
The annual All Japan Iaido Federation Taikai (Championship) takes place at the Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Yawata-shi, near Kyoto, Japan, on May 3rd and 4th. Seishinkan Iaido members attend and successfully compete in the Taikai every year since 1999. You can find a record of their achievements on the Achievements page.

Australian National Iaido Seminar
This biannual event is a two-day training seminar that brings together members from various Seishinkan Iaido dojos in one location. The seminar includes a taikai (championship) and a grading for members up to the rank of Godan (5th Dan). A record of achievements at the Australian National Iaido Taikai is available on the Achievements page.

Dojo Tour
Dojo Tours are day-long seminars held at Seishinkan Iaido’s Australian dojos throughout the year. Seishinkan Iaido instructors attend each tour, providing students the chance to workshop, exchange ideas, and learn from different teachers.
